On March 4th 2008, Rich received his stem cell transplant from his sister Beth. The procedure went smoothly. Rich is now in reverse isolation while his gift (Beth's cells) make their way to find residence in his marrow. This typically takes a few weeks.

During this time he will need to stay free from infection and will likely require some transfusions to maintain a healthy blood count. The focus will also be on nutrition during this phase. Once his white blood cell count reaches a safe level he may be released from Stanford Hospital.

Laura and the kids are doing great and some friends have been working very hard to organize a Tennis Event to be held on Saturday March 15th. Rally for Rich is a Tennis Mixer and Silent Auction to be held at the San Luis Obispo Country Club.
